About Me
About Me
I have been active in the Seattle music scene for over ten years. My experience has been wildly varied over the years. Starting as a jazz saxophonist and developing into a jazz pianist at Cornish College of the Arts I graduated in 2002. In 2001 I created my jazz big band, Charlie Smith Circle. Circle disbanded in 2005 but was nominated for an Earshot Jazz award that same year for its critically acclaimed album, Ahead and Behind. I’ve continued to work in the Seattle independent music scene working as an arranger for northwest bands and record labels as well as dance companies. Recently, I have been writing and recording original music for advertising, television and film in my Ballard studio and working as a producer on recordings.
I am lucky to have a unique situation in Seattle. I have my studio in a super hip neighborhood and access to an amazing number of skilled and creative musicians to help me create great music.
